The Manager of Engineering will lead a team of IT engineers to design, develop, and maintain IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring they align with the company's objectives and meet stakeholder needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of IT engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment
- Drive the planning, design, and implementation of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT requirements and provide technical expertise and solutions to support their business objectives
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, and make recommendations for adoption to enhance our IT capabilities and competitiveness
- Establish and maintain IT engineering standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with relevant regulations and best practices
- Monitor and analyze the performance of IT systems and infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize performance and mitigate risks
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to IT engineering services and solutions, ensuring service level agreements are met and value for money is achieved
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, representing the IT engineering team and ensuring successful outcomes
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience 5+ in IT engineering, with a focus on system design, infrastructure management, and application development
- Demonstrated experience of at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Strong technical expertise in areas such as networking, cloud computing, virtualization, cybersecurity, and database management
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive innovation
- Advanced degree preferred
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP) are a plus
