Description

Inspect various component parts throughout the plant, using simple gauges. Usually work on line or bench inspecting only a few repetitive characteristics. Responsible only for own work. Some visual inspection against standards. May pack parts in cartons after inspecting. Perform all related duties under this classification for the satisfactory completion of the job being worked on.

Duties and responsibilities are functions of the job and should not reflect the special talents or performance of an employee.

  • Performs continuous, repetitive inspection involving a few simple gauges or visual attributes.
  • Generally picks up piece part or parts and gauges or visually inspects.
  • Returns passed pieces to line and segregates questionable material.
  • Informs supervisor or Patrol Lot Verification Inspector when piece parts do not conform to specifications.
  • Pack finished parts and initial packed box.
  • Perform functional tests.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Maintain quality standards.

Requirements

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED

H. S. Diploma or GED/HSED equivalency preferred but not required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.

CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS

  • The ability to stand 2/3 or more of the day
  • The ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • The ability to read and interpret quality standards
  • The ability to communicate effectively
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Lifting pans or baskets of parts from ground to waist level, climbing ladders, loading and unloading parts in baskets
  • Visual exams are required for position and maintaining position
