Location: Lancaster Family Health Center at Beverly, Salem, OR. Employment type: Part‑time (Non‑exempt). No relocation offered.
Position Highlights

- $22.51‑$33.14/hour DOE
- Additional pay for bilingual skills (paid on hours worked)
What You’ll Do
- Maintain patient medical records, update medical history, vital signs, treatments, and medication; review immunization records.
- Prepare for patient visits, review files, labs, referrals, ensure reports are present, update provider team as needed.
- Collaborate with providers to ensure schedule efficiency and care continuity; discuss patients scheduled for the day.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms; ensure supplies and equipment are sterilized.
- Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures as needed.
- Provide limited education/support within scope; discuss discharge information and medication reactions.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns in person and via email; refer out‑of‑scope inquiries.
- Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, treatments, minor office surgeries.
- Anticipate provider needs and manage requests.
- Collect and prepare lab specimens; complete screenings; follow up on test results; document in EMR.
- Prepare and administer medication per physician direction.
- Perform clinical responsibilities per Joint Commission, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED accredited by a regional/national agency approved by the US Department of Education.
- Completion of one of the following:
- Graduation from a medical assisting program (one‑year certificate/diploma or two‑year associate degree) accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, with at least 720 hours of training including 160 hours externship.
- Graduation from an approved state apprentice program.
- Complete at least 720 hours of medical assistant college education.
- Earn equivalent military training related to medical assisting.
- Currently a certified MA or eligible to take certification.
- At least one year experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
- Current documentation (within 90 days of hire) for one of the following credentials:
- AAMA Certified Medical Assistant
- AMT Registered Medical Assistant
- NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
- NCCT National Certified Medical Assistant
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire; certifications must be maintained and current.
- Knowledge of medical theories and technical aspects.
- Strong interpersonal skills for diverse personalities, backgrounds, situations.
- Excellent multitasking and workload management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic, and EMR.
